CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE DIRECTOR
 
We are focused on finding more on a service delivery or cloud infrastructure than just relevant cloud IT experience.  We want someone who has worked in a hosting environment from a service delivery perspective working with many end clients utilizing many different cloud solutions. 
 
JOB SUMMARY
 
The Director of the Data Center/Hyper Convergence Infrastructure  team is responsible for leading a geographically dispersed team of system engineers and technical architects dedicated to continuously improving client health and value through delivering highly available service provider cloud solutions. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the team’s influence and impact.  Candidate possesses professional leadership and management skills with outstanding motivational and technology ITIL management capabilities. 
•         Exceptional people development and coaching skills.
•         Proven execution skills.  The role-holder will need to be able to prioritize multiple competing time demands, load balance and prevent bottlenecks, drive complex projects and tasks through to completion.
•         Strong technical background in the Cloud Service provider and Data Center infrastructure (for example, networking, servers, storage, software defined x, integrated and hyper -converged infrastructures), with knowledge of digital business and cloud technologies and trends.
 
  Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
•         Inspire and drive forward collaborative strategic thinking. Ensure team delivers highly relevant, high quality, thought leading, actionable research output targeted at constituency roles.
•         Lead a team of engineers who are focused on planning, designing and implementing private and public cloud services, infrastructure automation, server deployments, and business continuity/disaster recovery.
•         Collaborate with other cross-functional delivery, support and business leaders on business and Cloud projects or initiatives to align infrastructure with business goals.
•         Collaborate on the integration of physical and application architecture through close teamwork with software architects, application developers, and infrastructure operations teams.
•         Lead initiatives to maintain and operate a 24/7 X 365 high-performance, highly available infrastructure.
•         Champion Agile and DevOps methodologies as a means to improve operational process and increase velocity of the team.
•         Develop team’s predictive capacity and analysis skills to drive continuous improvement in the quality of forecasts and trends.
•         Optimize resource capacity management to maximize revenue growth and financial performance. Provide budget input and validation.
•         Contribute to corporate strategic objectives by optimizing team’s ability to support key initiatives for target roles.
•         Develop and maintain operational procedures and service level goals meeting or exceeding business cadence and scale requirements with a professional level of work quality.
•         Provide clear, accurate, timely, and transparent access to the performance metrics of the Infrastructure Engineering Team.
•         Deliver innovation initiatives to drive new business revenue and projects.
•         Drive, direct and ensure on-time and high-quality fulfillment of each relevant deliverables.
•         Manage performance, drive a high performance, collaborative culture and oversee and manage remuneration across multiple geographies.
•         Direct and assign team resources to effectively respond to sales support and client engagement requests in a timely manner.
•         Support business development initiatives in collaboration with sales and product leads.
•         Maintain and grow relationships with senior client executives.
•         Hire, develop and retain top talent. Be sensitive to cultural differences and excel in managing a globally dispersed, remote team.
•         Create an opportunity for teams to focus on the work necessary to reach company goals, forcing out distractions.
•         Manage incident, problem and change management procedures and reporting for services as required.
•         Manage the quality, consistency, accuracy, completeness, and testing of infrastructure engineering related processes and documentation, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity plans.
 
Qualifications
 
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to inspire a team to achieve great things.
Execution: Demonstrated ability to take concrete actions to deliver and inspire.
Domain expertise: Demonstrated expertise in areas specific to the Data Center infrastructure industry, interrelated technologies and trends in digital and cloud services.
 
•         15 plus years’ experience working within IT related technology field relevant management experience
•         Bachelor's degree in related field; Masters preferred - and/or relevant qualifications and/or relevant experience
•         Recognized expertise and solid knowledge in Data Center infrastructure, cloud and related software technologies to lead relevant research coverage and grow business in this topic area.
•         Polished skills in communication, leadership, planning, motivation, coaching and cross team collaboration
•         Credibility to represent research methodology and strategies effectively at a senior level
•         Demonstrates high level of influence, negotiation & facilitation skills
•         Collaboration and consensus building skills with a large, diverse group of clients
•         Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
•         Communicate clearly and create the environment for effective communication, cooperation, collaboration, and conflict resolution; foster open dialog and feedback.
