THIS IS A ROLE FOR A DEVELOPER OR DEVOPS THAT ALSO HAS BACKGROUND IN QA TESTING.  DEVELOPER BACKGROUND IS A MUST HAVE. AUTOMATION WITH SELENIUM IS A MUST HAVE.  THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ROLE - W2 ONLY.

The ideal candidate is a software engineer at heart and their mentality is “I like to break things”.  They look at the software and decide what is the best way to tear it down and test it.  "Give it to me and let me automate it!"   Our client is not opposed to a good mix of automated and manual testing as long as they attack every problem in a creative way.  An out of the box thinker when it comes to QA Testing and that usually comes from a tester that has a solid background in software development.   Automation with Selenium and exposure to RSpec for Ruby is ideal.  Experience with CI/CD is also ideal.

A candidate strong with the HP ALM Quality Center set of tools will typically not translate well into this role.

Essential Responsibilities:
•    Lead tester on engineering team for business critical web applications
•    Work with principle software engineer to define overall test strategy
•    Write, execute and manage manual and automated test scripts
•    Experience with Selenium, RSpec, Hudson, Jenkins,
•    Build tiered regression suite
•    Define and execute performance testing
•    Work collaboratively as part of an cross functional team that includes designers, customers, internal stakeholders and software engineers
•    Research and stay current in web application testing practices and trends

Requirements:
•    5+ years experience in software testing and/or software development
•    Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Perl, Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, SQL
•    Experience with one or more test automation frameworks
•    Performance testing experience
•    Experience testing SOAP and/or RESTful APIs
•    Experience testing web applications with solid understanding of web standards
•    Familiarity with Continuous Integration CI / Continuous Deployment CD tools, concepts and practices (Docker)
•    Willing and able to conduct both manual and automation testing
•    Understanding of Agile software delivery principles and practices
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to both nontechnical and technical audiences
•    A degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
