IT DESKTOP SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Position Description

We are looking to add a talented and ambitious IT DESKTOP SUPPORT SPECIALIST to our distinguished technical team. This position will play an important role in providing well rounded IT Desktop technical support for a successful wealth management company.  The person in this role is responsible for helping internal staff and our client's team members with their IT needs. This individual will work both independently and in team settings, and must work well in a faced paced, demanding environment and be readily available to the staff during most business hours.

Responsibilities

Primary Role

  • Provide support for windows workstations, laptop, and server support both remotely and in person
  • Responding promptly to requests from staff in a courteous and positive manner
  • Deskside / Desktop / Mobile / System Support with any and all technical needs
  • Active Directory maintenance and permissions monitoring
  • Backup and recovery management
  • Evaluates system potential by testing compatibility of new programs with existing programs
  • Implements security measures as defined by management
  • Prepares documentation for troubleshooting and maintains knowledgebase of most common troubleshooting steps
  • Maintain confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
Requirements
Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of PC architecture/technology
  • Working knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures and the ability to determine course of actions based on given guidelines
  • Ability to deal professionally with non-technical users
  • Ability to analyze and solve technical problems by investigating potential solutions using troubleshooting skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer handling skills

Education & Experience
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a comparable role or roles
  • Technical Degree preferred
  • A+ Certification a plus
  • Any Microsoft Certifications a plus (MCSA MCSE)
