Summary:

Our client is looking for a seasoned PM that has great communication and vendor management skills.  They don't need a PM that is deep into the technical side, but they prefer a PM that is more focused on Business Optimization-type projects.

Responsible for day-to-day management and execution of multiple projects through the project lifecycle.  The nature of projects occasionally has project managers performing both business analyst and project management work on projects, however, on larger projects, the position may be assisted by a business analyst to provide support.  This resource also acts as an internal consultant for identifying business objectives, gathering requirements, selecting systems, ensuring quality, and oversight for implementation teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct design sessions or individual meetings as appropriate to drive consensus on project requirements and approach.
  • As a project is underway, provide clear status reporting and updates so all stakeholders are aware of progress and any challenges.  Facilitate resolution of issues and risks to ensure project progresses efficiently.
  • Manage project team’s expectations for each project’s features, timeline, and budget.  When faced with conflicting priorities, setbacks, or budget constraints, prepare and present alternatives to management. 
  • When projects are complete, conduct project audits and post-project reviews to assure objectives are met and ensure that there is an effective transfer of the project results and the associated knowledge.
  • Communicate and manage routine interactions with all necessary external vendors, as well as support and collaborate with internal business units and related projects.
 Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required with preference for Business, MIS, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or related concentration.  Seven or more years’ experience of relevant Program Office/Project Management in a corporate setting can substitute for a degree. 
  • Five or more years of Project Management / Business Analyst experience. 
 Required Knowledge:
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experienced and proficient with tools such as MS Project, MS Visio and MS office suite.
  • Comprehensive experience with project management and system analysis skills including process mapping, meeting facilitation, and client negotiations.
  • A wide degree of creativity, initiative, and ability to lead a group is expected.
  • Ability to organize and conduct small to large group sessions and meetings.
  • Must have strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, emphasizing quality work and ability to interact with staff of varying levels throughout the credit union.
  • Balance long-term (“big picture”) and short-term implications of decisions.
  • Must have strong problem solving skills and be able to lead through developing solutions to problems as they arise.
  • Preferred skills include PMP or knowledge of Lean/Agile concepts.
