Sr. Systems Engineer (Infrastructure and Support Lead)

Location:  Kansas City, MO

Duration:  6 month contract-to-hire opportunity 

Conversion salary:  $90,000 - $104,000


Summary:

The ideal candidate for this role would be a senior engineer that currently has limited growth potential in their current role and wants the opportunity to take the next step.

Provides oversight for service desk based client support and leads IT Infrastructure efforts while interfacing with multiple business units, delivery teams, vendors and IT representatives. This role's primary responsibility is to provide technical/management leadership on major projects or technology assignments related to the service desk and IT Infrastructure. Establishes goals and plans that meet project and support company and departmental objectives.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain telephony, networking, and storage/compute.
  • Install, configure, deploy and maintain corporate third party applications as needed in a Windows environment
  • Install, configure and maintain Windows Servers in a VMWare 6.x environment
  • Install, configure and maintain Windows Active Directory and Office 365
  • Manage and improve the knowledge base/ticketing system to ensure proper tracking, communication and support is being provided to our clients
  • Create system diagrams and documentation as needed
  • Track and monitor tickets to ensure SLAs are being met and resolution occurs in a timely manner
  • Provide Tier 2-3 operational support as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, University Program Certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of two IT industry certifications i.e. MCSE, CCNA or equivalent technical experience
  • At least 5 or more years of progressive experience in an IT Infrastructure/support role in an enterprise environment
  • At least 2 or more years leading/supervising individuals in technical roles
  • Experience serving on a service desk is preferred
