I.    Job Summary
The Business Systems Analyst enables the stakeholders in the enterprise to define and articulate the needs and rationale for change. The Business System Analyst also describes the design and value of the proposed solutions, along with recommendations that will meet the needs of the stakeholder. The Business System Analysts does this through a combination of investigative, analytical, documentation and design skills. The Business System Analysts works on a variety of initiatives within the enterprise that may be strategic, tactical or operational. These initiatives may be performed within the boundaries of a project or as a continuous improvement activity.

Looking for a senior BA who knows how to hit the ground running without much direction needed. They know their discipline and can work well with a PM on a variety of different types and sizes of projects.

II.    Duties and Responsibilities
•    Works with stakeholders to understand business problems and needs through performing the following:

a.    Facilitating elicitation sessions workshops
b.    Describing business problem in common language
c.    Analysis of problem to develop possible solutions
d.    Uses various interviewing techniques to gather and draw information from stakeholders or subject matter experts
e.    Evaluates quality of data/information provided by outside sources
f.    Analyze and communicate stakeholder needs by translating business requirements into system requirements.

•    Provides documentation to support analysis by performing the following:

a.    Provide solutions or improvements along with recommendations to solve business problems.
b.    Facilitates stakeholder analysis and decision making
c.    Advises stakeholders on recommendations for solution along with pluses and minuses
d.    Use data modeling to improve the flow of information through the organization.
e.    Work with Trainer (if available, otherwise do so independently) to provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation and educating users.
f.    Ability to gather information and best practices to provide to users

•    Perform solution gap analysis by performing the following:

a.    Ability to analyze and document the current state business processes.
b.    Ability to understand proposed solutions to document future state business processes.
c.    Ability to analyze between current state and possible solutions to understand gaps

•    Coordinate between people with diverse people and backgrounds by performing the following:

a.    Act as liaison between business stakeholders and the information technology team or third-party vendors
b.    Work with technical staff to bridge technical design and business solution design to meet business goals.
c.    Foster cooperation and build consensus; gain agreement and resolve issues and conflicts, often among multiple external entities or persons.

•    Ability to perform quality assurance functions by performing the following:

a.    Ability to design use cases that meet business needs
b.    Ability to develop test criteria to meet use case design
c.    Ability to verify test results against uses cases
d.    Active participant in solution implementation and ability to verify implementation through success criteria and system performance.

III.    Education and Experience Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or similar concentration
•    Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience with progressively more responsible and expansive work experience
•    A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered.

•    Ability to use modeling methods to illustrate data and processes
•    Knowledge of database and logical data modeling concepts.
•    Requires facilitating meetings to gather information and elicit requirements
•    Understanding core competencies of the Business Analysts Book of Knowledge (BABOK)
•    Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
•    Ability to use modeling tools. Prefer Visio

V.    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•    Business analysis training desired.
•    Industry certifications, such as the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) designation by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®), desired.
•    Knowledge of Team Foundation Server (TFS)
•    Knowledge of Lean-Agile concepts

Physical Requirements:
•    Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions:
•    This position is expected to work in general office environment and may have to travel for visits to other credit union facilities or for training purposes.
