This resource will lead the effort to replace the current operation systems by creating, maintaining and optimizing a data architecture that will support the transition for multiple business lines.  This is a ground floor opportunity where you will be expected to make architectural and design recommendations that will determine how to put together a practice and figure out a program (model, primary data domains, etc.).
There is no data architecture in place, so this resource will spend a portion of time being hands on delivering a wide array of big data and self-service reporting solutions. 

The primary purpose of the Data Architect is to lead development of domain-specific data models in order to drive consistent use of data across application portfolios. They set the direction of data architecture for application portfolios using multiple techniques and viewpoints, such as conceptual/logical/physical data models, data flow diagrams, data entity/business function matrices, etc. 
  • Establish best practices in big data technologies and data warehouse to collect and analyze large volumes of data advancing efficiency optimization, predictive analytics and BI self-reporting tools.
  • Guide the organization in efficient data and resource management best practices with cloud based big data, Data Warehouse and Reporting platforms and services
  • Lead and provide significant contributions to the growth of our Data infrastructure
  • Design and develop business intelligence solutions
  • Design and document data structures/models and data flows
  • Interact with various business units and technical teams to gather requirements
  • Review and optimize current ETL processes
  • Ensure data quality, completeness, and accuracy
  • Collaborate with team members in code reviews, discovering better practices and patterns and continuous improvements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field) and have at least 5+ years of relevant work experience in business intelligence, data engineering, data warehousing, or a similar field.
  • Will remain active in learning emerging practices and technologies in the BI/DW and data science space.
  • Knowledge of multiple database programming languages and knowledge of relational and columnar databases.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple data sources and have processed large amounts of unstructured data.
  • Prefer experience with AWS, Big Data Components (Apache Spark, Hadoop, Presto, etc.), and Continuous Integration tools (TeamCity, Octopus, Jenkins, etc.)
