VP of DevOps and Software Engineering Location: Kansas City Full Time/Direct-Hire Salary: $175K - $250K + equity

VP of Devops and Software Development works with Executive Management and Product teams to create software applications and to grow the company. Directs IT and Software Development departments to achieve company's strategic goals. VP of Devops and Software Development is also tasked with managing and maintaining software applications that impact customer facing systems. Role reports to the CEO.
Lead a team of software developers and devops engineers
Represent the technological agenda in executive level and staff meetings.
Maintain current knowledge of technology landscape and developments.
Plan, maintain, and consolidate technology platforms and create plans for each application and system.
Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics.
Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation, and creativity.
Spearhead IT projects to accomplish strategic goals set by the company Executive Leadership.
Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture.
Work with the product team to shape new products, prioritize projects, and enhance existing applications.
Oversee application and system security and assist with regulatory and industry standard compliance.
Manage AWS cloud services and keep up with the latest technologies and AWS products.
Setup and maintain all cloud-based Linux server infrastructure for the development team.
Setup and maintain monitoring infrastructure that provides proactive notifications when issues arise and facilitates quick diagnosis of problems.
Write automated scripts for provisioning and configuration of the services
Minimum of 5 years of experience with at least 1-2 years using AWS related technologies
Automated server provisioning in cloud environment
Operation of high availability environments
Performance monitoring and troubleshooting
Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
VPN, DNS, load balancing, firewalls
Infrastructure security and auditing
Shell scripting with bash, python, ruby, etc.
SQL querying and database administration
