Windows Systems Theater Support - Remote Contract

Title: Theater Operations Systems Administrator and Application Support
Location: 100% Remote
Terms: 6-8 Mos. Contract with plans for ongoing extensions after that. 
Rates:

W2 W/ Benefits 32-35/Hr.
W2 W/O Benefits 37/Hr.
1099 40/Hr.
Status: Prefer W2 or 1099 (U.S. Citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. are encouraged to apply. We are unable to sponsor at this time.  We are unable to engage in a Corp to Corp arrangement with this client)

POSITION PURPOSE:

This position is the key technical position in the organization responsible for the administration of one or more applications to support the systems installed within the theaters.  Responsibilities include various activities such as system installation, set-up and configuration, security administration, testing, promotion and installation of upgrades and patches, change control, troubleshooting and production support.
 
This position will be part of a team rolling out Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade efforts.  Working closely with AMC Theaters across the country helping them get their systems upgraded.  Imaging flash drives, scheduling install dates and times and walking theater personnel through the installs and security setups for all location devices.  Training will be provided.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Prepare site-specific configurations in advance of Windows Migration go-live install date for AMC theater locations.
  2. Work with on-site tech and staff to install, configure, and test Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrades.
  3. Use various remote view/control technology utilities to re-image and configure Windows migration.
  4. Troubleshoot configuration, hardware and software problems related to the Windows 10 installs.
  5. Understanding how the Pin-pads communicate with the existing infrastructure; knowing ports, services and software to ensure payments are processing correctly.
  6. PowerShell and Batch file scripting for application deployment automation and debugging applications.
  7. Troubleshooting services running in a Windows Server 2008 & 2012 environment
  8. Troubleshooting using command line
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY:  

Technical
  • Knowledgeable in Windows migrations and upgrade processes
  • Remote software deployments to hardware devices
  • Remote application support using RDP, VNC Viewer, Dameware or similar tool
  • Application support background supporting users and field tech engineers
  • Deploy, activate, troubleshoot and support Windows system installs
  • Windows Server 2008 / 2012
  • Strong application troubleshooting skills
  • PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and batch software deployments
  • PowerShell scripting to gather data from remote workstations and servers to generate reports
  • Terminal, PC and Device Imaging experience - currently using proprietary software for imaging (NCR PXE)
  • Experience with installing and deploying VMware ESXi Servers (nice to have)
  • Creating VMWare templates for installation deployment (nice to have)
  • Error and log file analysis, analyzing log files to aid in the debugging of applications
  • Knowledge in supporting and implementing POS Hardware a plus
  • Experience in using remote software tools to image, re-image and re-configure devices.
Non-Technical
  • Fast learner. Get up to speed quickly and work independently with extreme attention to detail
  • Strong Multi-Tasker.  Efficiency in troubleshooting or testing multiple terminals at one time.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with a variety of technical team members across organization.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate complex technical issues to project team members and stakeholders in clear and concise ways, including those who do not have a technical background
  • Excellent organization skills. Must be detailed oriented, able to design and implement detailed processes for change management, installation and configuration, production support and other highly complex and technical activities.
  • Analytical/Problem Solving. Intellectual capacity and ability to gather, sort and analyze data and then develop logical conclusions; critical thinking skills; familiar with problem solving tools/techniques and able to communicate options, conclusions, and recommendations to both the business and the technology teams.
  • Must be able to communicate with and manage multiple vendors on technical issues and planning.
POSITION MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE):
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science or equivalent preferred.  This is necessary to develop self-direction, writing ability, critical thinking, and foundation of software implementation fundamentals
  • 2-4 years of experience in IT-related positions
  • 1-2 years of experience in hardware and software support related positions
