IT Operations Administrator (Cyber Security Group)

Location:  Overland Park, KS


This position operates, keeps secure, and maintains the IT Operations workstations and applications. The IT Operations Administrator is responsible monitoring and analyzing IT Services and Critical Job Streams for degradation or failure.   Work to resolve events based on well-defined procedures or escalate as required.  This role will also be expected to facilitate communications between IT teams, Vendors, and business partners.  
  • Monitor environment to ensure 24x7 availability
  • Gain a thorough understanding of operational protocols and procedures and apply them to make troubleshooting decisions
  • Determine sequence of operations by studying production schedule
  • Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
  • Documents problems and actions by completing production logs and Global Incident Reports
  • Analyzes, performs problem management/escalation and troubleshooting while considering business impact
  • Monitor Enterprise Job Scheduler, File Transfer System, and document repository
  • Document and assign tickets to appropriate support personnel
  • Communicate with external vendors and partners
  • Handle Help Desk tickets
  • Manage day to day interaction with vendors based on service level agreements and escalate where necessary
  • Comply with and promote our security policies and procedures
  • Act as a technical liaison to evaluate and report bugs
  • Diagnose & troubleshoot user-facing service incidents & outages
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, users, technical staff, and customers to identify issues and opportunities
  • Report to management when required.
  • Hardware deployment according to security policies and procedures  
  • Must have 2 years’ IT experience operating various computer equipment and applications
  • Unwavering commitment to confidentiality
  • Attention to detail and accuracy and solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintain predictable and reliable attendance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Demonstrate ability to understand, translate, and communicate IT and technical terms to non-technical individuals 
  • Demonstrate ability to assess impact based on business value and respond appropriately
  • Basic knowledge of Windows, Linux, VMware and Networking
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Enterprise Job Scheduling, Batch processing
    • IBM Mainframe: MVS, VM, JCL, JES, IPL
    • Microsoft Windows and UNIX operation systems. Remote systems monitoring
    • VBA Scripting
